The salary is $65,849.50, in addition to medical coverage, vacation time, and other benefits.

The Washington County District Attorney is seeking a full-time Assistant District Attorney for the Juvenile Court Division.  This position is responsible for prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases involving juveniles. The successful applicant will work closely with the staff of Juvenile Court, the Juvenile Probation Office, local school representatives, and various agencies to ensure that the community is protected and the interests of the juvenile are served.

The Assistant District Attorney shall perform professional legal work in the evaluation, processing, and prosecution of criminal cases to a fair and just disposition in the Washington County Juvenile Court system. The Assistant District Attorney will develop trial strategy for cases, determine sentence recommendations, and attend various court calendars.  The Assistant District Attorney will be responsible for ascertaining the facts of the case, working closely with law enforcement, secure expert testimony and prepare witnesses for trial.  The ideal candidate must be proficient in legal research and be able to communicate effectively.  The ability to work independently and in a team setting when needed is also necessary. 

Minimum requirements include being in good standing and admitted to practice before the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits, offering an exciting opportunity to gain valuable legal experience while serving Washington County. Starting salary of $77,554.

Must have a valid driver’s license.  Current PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal History Clearance, and FBI Criminal History Clearance are required. 

 

Monday through Friday

School year hours – 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

Summer hours – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

**SALARY INCREASE**

$45,236.78 per year

 

Benefits – start 1st day following start date

Vacation, sick days, personal days and 13 paid holidays

The Washington County Public Defender’s office is seeking to hire a PT Assistant Public Defender to primarily represent indigent defendants during preliminary hearings and clients at mental health commitment hearings.

 

A Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in Pennsylvania (member of the Pennsylvania Bar) are required, as is prior experience as an attorney.  A thorough knowledge of the law, the court system and legal proceedings is essential, as is the ability to perform legal research.  The incumbent must remain current in the law through continuing education.  The incumbent will deal directly with inmates, frequently in the Correctional Facility, and must be aware of the physical risks that may be involved. Computer skills are necessary.  A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary, as this position requires traveling to magistrate offices throughout the county. 

 

Schedule – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Every other Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 

Starting salary - $54,287.80

Individual benefits available after 90-days

ID PROGRAM SPECIALIST I – WAIVERS

 

The County of Washington Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking applicants for the position of ID Program Specialist I - Waivers.  The starting salary for the position is $42,437.45 with a generous benefits package, including family health insurance, retirement contribution, and wellness benefits/activities for both employees and their families, paid time off (vacation and sick) and employee assistance program (EAP).  The position will be required to work outside of normal scheduled hours due to meetings, trainings or other administrative need. 

 

The ID Program Specialist I - Waivers position is responsible for the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring and coordination of community ID programs.  Duties involve ensuring implementation of the rules, regulations, program policies and objectives, and assisting in oversight of the delivery of services.  Duties also involve providing technical assistance to providers, including but not limited to, program planning, development, implementation and coordination. The position requires annual training.

 

The position requires two years of professional level experience in the field of intellectual disabilities; and a bachelor’s degree; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
